The Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau Young Leaders program provides opportunities for individuals ages 18-35 to fuel their passion for agriculture. Whether you’re a full or part-time farmer, ag professional, college student, or supporter of the industry, there is a place for you in Young Leaders.

2025 YL/FFA SAFETY EXPO
September 19, 2025 


The Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau Young Leaders hosted their 4th annual FFA Safety Expo on Friday, September 19th, 2025. Over 115 FFA students from Belvidere FFA, Belvidere North FFA, North Boone FFA, Durand FFA, Pecatonica FFA, and Winnebago FFA participated in ATV Safety, Burn Safety & First Aid for various types of burns, Electrical Safety, Emergency Calls, Grain Safety, PTO Safety.  Ali Danekas, Emily Backeberg and Mandy Haugh wrapped up the event with a presentation on opportunities available through the Collegiate Farm Bureau, and Young Leaders programs. Thank you to IL Conservation Police, UW Health of Northern Illinois, ComEd, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department 911 Center, Grain and Feed Association of Illinois, Mitchell Dairy and Grain, Winnebago- Boone Young Leaders and Highland Community College Collegiate Farm Bureau for making this such a successful event.  The event was sponsored in part by Illinois Farm Bureau and COUNTRY Financial.

Join Young Leaders from Carroll, Jo Daviess, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureaus at the upcoming District 2 YL Winter Social at the Lena Brewing Company Tap on Sunday, January 18, 2026.  Lena Brewing Company Tap is located at 9426 W Wagner Rd, Lena, IL.  The event will begin with a 1 p.m. tour and social after.  Lunch is on your own. Families are welcome. RSVP by Wednesday, January 14th. 

Registration is now open for the 2026 YL Conference, which will be held on February 6-7, 2026, at the Embassy Suites in East Peoria, IL.  Lance Weaver, former Ag Banker turned Business Coach, will be the keynote speaker.  The conference will offer 20 workshops on the following topics: On the Farm, Agribusiness Management, Young Professionals, Education & Engagement, and On the Horizon.  The conference will also include networking opportunities, silent and live auctions, Glow in the Dark Trivia Night, and more.  Members between the ages of 18-35 interested in attending should contact the Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau.  Registration deadline is Friday, January 2nd.
