The Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau® Foundation awarded twelve, $1,500 scholarships.  These scholarships are for students of Farm Bureau members that are enrolled in a college or university and are majoring in an agricultural field of study.  

Recipients include Kaitlin Asche of Pecatonica.  Kaitlin will be a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in the fall.  She is majoring in Agribusiness.  Kaitlin is the daughter of Allen and Mary Asche. 

Our second scholarship recipient is Rebecca Baird of Durand.  Rebecca is the recipient of the Lawrence & Hazel McColl Memorial Scholarship.  She will be a freshman at Iowa State University in the fall.  She will be majoring in Environmental Science.  Rebecca is the daughter of David and Reita Baird. 

Our third scholarship recipient is Holly Black of Rockton, IL.  Holly will be a sophomore at the University of South Dakota in the fall.  She is majoring in Medical Biology and Sustainability (Environmental focus).  Holly is the daughter of Mike and Ann Black.

 Our fourth scholarship recipient is Austin Brockmann of Garden Prairie.  Austin will be a junior at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in the fall.  He will be majoring in Agribusiness and Agri-accounting.  Austin is the son of Gary and Vicky Brockmann.

Our fifth scholarship recipient is Daniel Daly of Pecatonica.  Daniel is the recipient of the Lawrence & Hazel McColl Memorial Scholarship.  He will be a freshman at Kirkwood Community College in the fall.  He is majoring in Ag Production and Agribusiness.  Daniel is the son of David and Carrie Daly.

Our sixth scholarship recipient is Genevieve Ellingson of Poplar Grove.  Genevieve will be a freshman at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in the fall.  She will be majoring in Crop Sciences and Plant Biotechnology.  Genevieve is the daughter of John and Toni Ellingson.

Our seventh scholarship recipient is Ray Hildebrandt of South Beloit, IL.  Ray will be a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in the fall.  He is double majoring in Ag Business and Dairy Science.  Ray is the son of Ken and Amy Hildebrandt.

Our eighth scholarship recipient is Brock Irwin of Belvidere.  Brock will be a junior at University of Wisconsin- River Falls in the fall.   He is majoring in Dairy Science.  Brock is the son of Mark and Melissa Irwin.

Our ninth scholarship recipient is Travis Jacobs of Pecatonica.  Travis will be a freshman at Highland Community College this fall.  He will be majoring in Agricultural Management with an emphasis in Crop Management.  Travis is the son of Todd and Debbie Jacobs.

Our tenth scholarship recipient is Alicia Limones of Caledonia.  Alicia will be a junior at Ellsworth Community College in the fall.   She is majoring in Agriculture Education.  Alicia is the daughter of Beth Limones.

Our eleventh scholarship recipient is Alexis Sell of Garden Prairie.  Alexis will be a sophomore at Iowa Lakes Community College this fall.  She is majoring in Animal Science.  Alexis is the daughter of Scot Sell.

Our twelfth scholarship recipient is Abby Stevens of Caledonia.  Abby will be a freshman at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in the fall.  She will be majoring in Animal Science.  Abby is the daughter of Daryl and Karin Stevens.

We want to congratulate each of the scholarship recipients and wish them the very best as they pursue their degrees.  The Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau Foundation is proud to be able to assist these students with their college education.

Scholarships


PURPOSE:
To provide scholarships to college students who major in agriculture, agribusiness, or ag-related course of study.

ELIGIBITY:

  • Member, Spouse, or dependent of a member of the Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau (minimum of one full year)
  • Must be a resident of Boone or Winnebago County, IL.
  • A high school graduate
  • Must be accepted for enrollment or be enrolled at an accredited college, university, or community college.
  • Must exhibit potential for successful completion of study.


DUE DATE:
All applications must be returned or postmarked by February 1st.
