The funds for the scholarship awards come from the generosity of our members and local agribusinesses.  If you would like to make a contribution to the Foundation for the purpose of providing scholarships, we would encourage you to do so.  (The Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization; therefore, your donation is tax deductible with in IRS guidelines.) 

If you would be interested in donating to the Foundation, contact the Farm Bureau office at 815/962-0653 and we will be glad to assist you in the process.




Scholarships


PURPOSE:
To provide scholarships to college students who major in agriculture, agribusiness, or ag-related course of study.

ELIGIBITY:

  • Member, Spouse, or dependent of a member of the Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau (minimum of one full year)
  • Must be a resident of Boone or Winnebago County, IL.
  • A high school graduate
  • Must be accepted for enrollment or be enrolled at an accredited college, university, or community college.
  • Must exhibit potential for successful completion of study.


DUE DATE:
All applications must be returned or postmarked by April 1st.

The Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau® Foundation awarded ten, $1,000 scholarships.  These scholarships are for students of Farm Bureau members that are enrolled in a college or university to major in an agricultural field of study.   Click here to see text and photos.


Recipients included Colton Asche of Pecatonica.  Colton is one of the two recipients of the Lawrence & Hazel McColl Memorial Scholarship.  He will be a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in the fall.  He is majoring in Soil and Crop Science with a minor in Agribusiness.  Colton is the son of Allen and Mary Asche. 

Our second scholarship recipient is Cassandra Baird of Durand.  Cassie will be a senior at Iowa State University in the fall.  She will be majoring in Animal Ecology and Pre-Veterinary Medicine.  Cassandra is the daughter of David & Reita Baird.  

Our third scholarship recipient is Austin Brockmann of Garden Prairie.  Austin will be a freshman at Rock Valley College in the fall.  He will be majoring in business with the plans to transfer into Agribusiness.  Austin is the son of Gary and Vicky Brockmann. 

Our fourth scholarship recipient is Brianna Brockmann of Garden Prairie.  Brianna will be a senior at Illinois State University in the fall.  She will be majoring in Agribusiness.  Brianna is the daughter of Gary and Vicky Brockmann. 

Our fifth scholarship recipient is Scott Cleland of Capron.  Scott will be a freshman at Joliet Junior College in the fall.  He will be majoring in Animal Production.  Scott is the son of John and Diane Cleland. 

Our sixth scholarship recipient is Ray Hildebrandt of South Beloit, IL.  Ray will be a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in the fall.  He is double majoring in Ag Business and Dairy Science.  Ray is the son of Ken and Amy Hildebrandt. 

Our seventh scholarship recipient is Brock Irwin of Belvidere.  Brock will be a freshman at Kaskaskia College in the fall.   He is majoring in Dairy Science.  Brock is the son of Mark and Melissa Irwin.


Our eighth scholarship recipient is Emily Irwin of Belvidere.  Emily will be a senior at Iowa State University College in the fall.   She is majoring in Dairy Science.  Emily is the daughter of Mark and Melissa Irwin. 

Our ninth scholarship recipient is Alicia Limones of Caledonia.  Alicia will be a freshman at Ellsworth Community College in the fall.   She is majoring in Agriculture Education.  Alicia is the daughter of Beth Limones. 

Our tenth scholarship recipient is Julia Mitchell of Winnebago.  Julia is the second recipient of the Lawrence & Hazel McColl Memorial Scholarship.  Julia will be a freshman at University of Wisconsin- Platteville in the fall.   She is majoring in Dairy Science with a minor in agribusiness.  Julia is the daughter of Tim and Lisa Mitchell.

 We want to congratulate each of the scholarship recipients and wish them the very best as they pursue their degrees.  The Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau Foundation is proud to be able to assist these students with their college education.
